Premier Farnell launched a global prize today for anyone to create a killer environmentally-friendly design using electronics and electrical components. You get support from experts to move your idea towards production and market it. You even keep the IP. Very benevolent.
Register by end of Oct and submit you design by end of Nov.
One rule caught my eye: "A Design must adhere to the laws of nature and physics." That excludes my pocket fusion reactor idea but there's hope for yours!

live edge is sponsored by our parent company Premier Farnell, and its subsidiaries. It is the first international competition of its kind to offer the support of expert legal, design and marketing consultants as part of its prize. The objective is to drive the winning design from concept towards production.
This innovative support package includes the use of an electronics design consultancy to develop the design toward prototype/production stage, legal assistance with Intellectual Property (IP) registration, patents and contracts, and professional public relations and marketing resources. All IP rights are retained by the winner, who will be invited to serve on next year’s live edge judging panel, with industry leaders and technical experts from around the world.
